Stocking PPE

We need to ensure there is enough stock on hand at all times. In addition to your normal PPE stocks for production, first aid or personal care, each site or service must maintain enough additional PPE to last at least one entire week.

This will ensure you have enough in stock in case you’re in a situation where you need to use it at short notice.

  • Work sites and Community Solutions can log into the RSEA online portal & place your order directly through the website (refer RSEA Key Information flyer for step by step instructions).

  • In emergencies, contact your Ops Manager or Procurement to send PPE from their central stock.

The following categories of items can be ordered through RSEA Safety

  • PPE (hand, head, and face protection)
  • Clothing (work shirts, shorts, and pants)
  • Footwear
  • Hardware (tools, tape, batteries, electrical cords etc.)

Wearing PPE

You must use full PPE if you have contact with a person or group of people who had COVID-19, and you must wear a mask as directed by your manager.

Clean your hands before wearing any PPE with soap and water, or hand sanitiser.

Handwashing

Always wash your hands before applying a mask to protect yourself from potential pathogens that may be on your hands.

This is because you will be putting your hands near your face and therefore your mucous membranes of eyes, nose and mouth.

As hand hygiene is one of the best defences to prevent infections spreading; ensure you also have sufficient additional stock of hand soap and sanitizer on hand.
