2025 distribution of DAP TMR survey for people with disability and survey for carers:

Purpose: Help shape Queensland’s transport future by sharing your experiences. TMR’s 2025 Disability Action Plan needs input from people with disability and carers to improve accessibility.

2025 Voice of Queenslanders with Disability Survey

Purpose: Have your say! The Voice of Queenslanders with Disability Survey 2025 is open, gathering insights from people with disability, families, support networks, and disability service providers. This survey informs Queensland’s Disability Plan 2022–2027 and shapes policy, planning, and reforms.

Get involved: Complete the survey by Wednesday 30 April 2025. It’s open for 7 weeks, takes about 10 minutes, and helps create a better future for Queenslanders with disability.

Purpose: Study measuring the contribution of people with intellectual disability

Purpose: Understanding how people with intellectual disability navigate accessing and using preventative health information.

Purpose: Gathering stakeholder input into the design and delivery of Foundational Supports.

2024 Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority: NDIS Pricing

Purpose: Have your say on NDIS pricing reforms through the Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority (IHACPA).

2024: Fragile X Association of Australia and the Centre for Disability Studies

Purpose: Have your say on NDIS pricing reforms through the Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority (IHACPA).

Status:

  • Stage 1: Interviews with experts have been completed; data analysis is ongoing.
  • Stage 2: Outputs will inform online training modules and resources for aged care and disability support workers.

2024 Australian Government Department of Social Services and the National Autism Strategy Oversight Council: National Autism Strategy

Purpose: A framework to improve life outcomes for autistic people through a coordinated national approach.

Status:

  • Consultations on the draft National Autism Strategy have now closed.
  • The strategy has not yet been agreed by Government.
  • The final strategy is expected to be presented to the government by the end of 2024.

2024 National Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability Health: National Roadmap for Improving the Health of People with Intellectual Disability

Purpose: Address serious health inequities faced by people with intellectual disability by creating a health system where people with intellectual disability are valued, respected and have access to high quality, timely and comprehensive health care.

Outcome: The Taskforce provided its final report to Government in December 2022 and the Roadmap Implementation Governance Group (RIGG) have been arranged to oversee implementation of the roadmap.

The roadmap will also support health and wellbeing outcomes under Australia’s Disability Strategy 2021-2031.

2024 University of Queensland (UQ): Autism Employment Playbook

Purpose: Create employment pathways for autistic people by embracing the strengths of a diverse workforce, with a focus on practical strategies.

Outcome: The Autism Employment Playbook was developed to demonstrate how tailored support helps autistic people succeed in their employment journeys. It highlights the value of neuro-inclusion and the strengths a diverse workforce brings to organisations.

2024 Queensland Disability Network and Disability Alliance: Make Disability Count at 2024 Queensland State Election

Purpose: Online forum to hear about six key priorities that matter most to people with disability, families, carers and disability workforce to be attended by representatives of Greens, LNP and Labour.

Outcome: A summary report has been produced, including key points made by candidates, questions raised by attendees and a Q&A.

2024 Queensland Government: Queensland Restrictive Practices Reform

Purpose: Inform legislative amendments to reduce restrictive practices for people with disabilities, promote national consistency in authorisation processes and align Queensland’s framework with NDIS rules.

Outcome: Disability Services (Restrictive Practices) and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2024 was introduced to Parliament in June 2024.

2024 National Disability Services and Endeavour Foundation: Taylor Fry Economic Modelling Report – Supported employee wage offset policy

Purpose: Support transition to award wages for supported employees with a wage offset policy.

Outcome: Study was commissioned by NDS and Endeavour Foundation and report was published online. We continue to advocate for the Australian Government to implement a wage offset

2024 QLD Public Trustee (QPT): Consultations for fees and charges reform

Purpose: Public consultation on QPT’s proposed fees and charges reform in key areas such as financial management, deceased estates and trust administration. The reform is to adjust fees and simplify fee structures to make them easier to understand.

Outcome: QPT is now reviewing the responses received throughout the consultation period to help inform Government’s decision about any changes to QPT’s fees and charges framework. If approved, financial management fee changes could be implemented from late 2024 to early 2025.
