About Family Support Groups

Family Support Groups provide a platform for families and guardians to share experiences, connect with like-minded locals and advocate for people we support. These groups offer continuous learning through expert-led talks and shared experiences, empowering all participants. They are managed by families, focusing on topics important to their community and have the autonomy to lead and shape the groups.

Roles and responsibilities

Members manage sessions, set meeting frequency, choose topics, assign roles (like minute-taker and meeting facilitator), create agendas and report to Area Advisory Groups and the Endeavour Foundation board on proposed changes or actions.

Eligibility

Any family member or guardian of someone in our services can join a Family Support Group for their area.

Carers, Support Workers, or anyone paid to support our people are not eligible due to ethical considerations, ensuring unbiased and volunteer-led participation.

How it supports the strategic plan?

Family Support Groups support Outcome 4 of the Strategic plan that more

More people we support feel involved in their lives and their community.

“I feel part of my community.”
