Our strategic plan supports our purpose of making possibilities a reality. We’re excited about our plan that guides us in making a positive impact in the lives of people we support.
Our strategic plan
In our purpose of making possibilities a reality we prioritise the human aspect of our work and measure success by the impact on those we support.
This strategic plan prioritises five key outcomes that are important to the people we support – feeling safe, being healthy, empowered to make decisions, included in their community and having a paid job that is right for them.
Our plan is inspired by the unwavering courage of our founding families who fought for the rights of their children with disability over 70 years ago. This commitment remains at the heart of our identity, focusing on the outcomes that matter most to people with disability and their families.
You are crucial in realising the positive impact we can have on the lives of the people we support, as your skills, ideas, and dedication are essential to bringing our strategy to life. Our success depends on collaboration. Together, we can achieve far-reaching impacts beyond what we could accomplish individually.
A positive impact for the people we support

Our strategic plan is based on a ‘Theory of Change’ model which provides a structured approach to understanding and achieving long term social impact.
We’ll know we’ve succeeded when:
People we support with an intellectual disability feel included, empowered and lead full and purposeful lives where they can exercise choice and control.
Five key outcomes important to people we support

Our strategic plan prioritises five key outcomes important to the people we support. Each outcome has associated strategies (19 in total). These are the things we do on a day-to-day basis, centred around the people we support, to bring about change.
We’ll know we are making a difference when we see positive improvements in our outcomes. We will ask all people we support how they feel so we can measure this.

All people we support are safe and feel safe from violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation. Measure: I feel safe
More people we support feel physically and mentally health. Measure: “I am happy with my physical and mental health.”
More people we support feel they have greater choice in how they live their lives. Measure: “I choose how to live my life.”

More people we support feel involved in their lives and their community. Measure: “I feel part of my community.”
More people we support have a paid job that’s right for them. Measure: “I have a paid job I like.”
