Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the Flu Vaccination Program?

To prepare for the flu season, we are offering you a free flu shot, either through Chemist Warehouse or through your GP.

Who is eligible for the program?

All employees at Endeavour Foundation, Community Solutions and BRACE, including employees we support, apprentices and trainees are eligible.

Do I have to get my fly vaccination?

No. However, we are encouraging all staff to stay healthy throughout this winter season.

A flu shot is the best way to reduce the risk of getting the flu as it builds your immunity to the virus and prevents its spread to other people, including people we support.

How can I access my free flu shot?

Through Chemist Warehouse

  1. Email [email protected] and request your flu shot voucher code.
  2. Visit Chemist Warehouse and follow the prompts to find an appointment time and location that suits you best.
  3. Click “Got a voucher code? Add it here” and enter your voucher code.
  4. Click ‘Apply’ and the total amount cost will be reduced to $0.00.
  5. Once your booking has been processed a confirmation email will be sent to your nominated email address with details of your booking.

Through your GP

If you do not have a Chemist Warehouse nearby, you can book a flu shot with your GP. Please retain your receipt so you can be reimbursed to the value of $19.00.

Email [email protected] if you do not live near a Chemist Warehouse or can’t get a flu shot with your GP. We may be able to arrange a flu vaccination voucher for you at another chemist.

How long will it take for me to get my unique flu vaccination voucher code?

You should receive your voucher code within the same day, although it may take up to three working days.

I am eligible for a free flu vaccination through the National Immunisation Program (NIP). Can I still use my unique voucher code?

No. You will need to visit your local GP for your free flu shot.

What’s the latest date I can get access to my unique voucher code?

The Flu Vaccination Program runs from Monday 17 March to Sunday 22 June 2025. Vouchers will be available through [email protected] until Friday 13 June 2025.

I have already received my flu vaccination. Can I be reimbursed?

Yes, up to the value of $19.00 and if you have your receipt.

Your manager will reimburse you from petty cash or you can complete a staff reimbursement form, located in our Document Management System (DMS) (QF 6700.04 Kofax Coding Slip). Apply the following financial dimensions 99121P-WHSAF-ZADMIN-SAFE-PAW and Account code 561130.

My flu vaccination cost more than $19.00, can I be reimbursed for the full amount?

No. We established a commercial rate of $19.00 to assist in subsidising this year’s program.

Can I get my flu vaccination done during my work hours?

This program is being offered as a subsidised benefit and it would be preferable if you could undertake this in your own time. If it’s not practical, please speak with your manager.

When is the flu vaccination not appropriate?

Flu vaccinations are not appropriate for people who:

  • have had a serious allergy (such as anaphylaxis) from a previous flu vaccine
  • have had a serious allergy (such as anaphylaxis) to a component of the flu vaccine (e.g. eggs)
  • are unwell (with a temperature over 38.5°C) at the time of their appointment; or
  • are aged under 6 months.

If any of the above apply to you or you are at all unsure, please seek medical advice from your pharmacist or doctor.

I’m pregnant, should I get vaccinated?

Please seek medical advice from your pharmacist or doctor.

I got the flu vaccination last year. Do I need to get it again this year?

Yes. The flu virus is continually changing, and so does the vaccine to ensure protection against the most recent and common circulating strains.

Are there side effects associated with the flu vaccination?

While there are side effects associated with the flu vaccination, most are very mild and short term (normally lasting no more than 48 hours).

Very rarely more serious side effects can occur; however, these tend to be allergic (anaphylactic) reactions to components in the vaccine.

If you are at all concerned about potential side effects, please seek medical advice from your pharmacist or doctor.
