Including Gender Pronouns

Lots of People

Respect and inclusivity have never been more valued or prominent in the workplace. We are committed to supporting all gender-diverse peers, clients and suppliers.

Focusing on valuing, supporting and respecting everyone’s identities, we will be introducing the use of optional pronouns in PeopleSoft to show we are an inclusive organisation, supporting the LGBTQIA+ community. It is optional to add pronouns and they can be changed at any time

The introduction of pronouns will align with the International Pronouns Day on Wednesday, 18 October, as we stand with our gender-diverse peers, as an ally.

Using the right pronouns to refer to a person is one of the easiest ways to show respect, build rapport and to help them affirm themselves. Let’s normalise pronouns and show our support by making pronouns commonplace.

7. Your Gender Details have now been updated.

It is optional to add pronouns and this can be changed or removed at any time. There are a lot of gender-neutral pronouns, as listed below.

Adding pronouns to your profile provides clarity on how you would like people to address you and removes any uncertainty as to how to address and respect an employee’s identity.

What are Gender Pronouns?

Gender pronouns are words used to identify a person’s gender identity. He, she, they – these are three common examples. This is how we can express our gender and a way of asking others to acknowledge and respect it. Pronouns help people feel more comfortable, safe, stronger and respected.

There are more pronouns for you to use as you choose. Some people use mixed pronouns.

Remember, when in doubt, politely ask people what they are comfortable with to avoid misgendering or accidently using incorrect pronouns.
