If you currently work under the Endeavour Foundation Union Collective Agreement (known as EFUCA) then the next few months are going to be important for you.
Did you know that right now discussions are underway to negotiate a new agreement focused on a healthy working environment and employment security?
Following on from last week’s Your Weekly Update about the process and how you can get involved, here is an update and some more information for you.
Bargaining meeting outcomes
At the most recent meeting, the Unions and Representatives tabled their key priorities for consideration; and Endeavour Foundation tabled its changes from the current Agreement for discussion.
The key priorities and topics to be considered and discussed include:
All parties recognise the importance of providing a work environment that is physically and mentally safe. We also recognise that an employee’s mental wellbeing is impacted from factors outside of work. While Endeavour Foundation has Mental Health First Aiders and Benestar, we are exploring how to include a commitment to employee mental health and wellbeing in the new Agreement.
We spend a lot of time at work and our surroundings may affect how we feel about our workplace and who we work for. The state of some Endeavour Foundation facilities has been raised for discussion and we are working with the bargaining parties about these issues and how they can be addressed throughout the life of the Agreement.
Your roster is a key focus area. Specifically, the bargaining parties will be considering:
- If you are a part time employee: how many hours you work; if you would like to increase your hours of work with us; and what that process looks like.
- If you are a casual employee: how and when you could become a part time or full-time employee of Endeavour Foundation; and what that process would look like.
- The process involved in changing rosters.
The penalty rates and allowances will be changing with the new Agreement. Some will be higher, and some will apply to more people.
There are three Modern Awards that underpin this new Agreement – SCHADS (The Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2020); SESA (Supported Employment Services Award 2020); and the Waste Management Industry Award. We are working to ensure that the terms of the Modern Awards are met or exceeded by the new Agreement.
Next steps…we want to hear from you!
The next step is to identify where Endeavour Foundation and employee representatives agree or disagree on the key priorities and topics areas outlined above.
It is also your opportunity to share your ideas on the topic areas and your thoughts about the changing terms.
We are also here to answer your questions and explain the proposed changes and benefits of the new Agreement.
How can I get involved?
If you are affected by the enterprise bargaining, you will be contacted directly with information about how you can have your say.
