It was high excitement in Toowoomba last week as we welcomed Candice, Angie, Susie and Alison to their new home.

This beautiful four-bedroom abode was built in the Hamptons style in a well-established neighbourhood and has a staff sleepover room so the close friends can live independently, with support when they need it. Candice, Angie and Susie are moving from Endeavour Foundation homes, but for Alison, this is her first time moving out independently.
The Welcome Home event was well attended by family, friends, neighbours, Endeavour Foundation staff and media. The women were so excited to plant a tree in their garden and show people around.

“I love [my new home], I love it so much. I’m happy. I’ll have a good time,” said Susie.
Angie was also in agreeance, “Yes, we are. We’re gonna have a real party!”
Candice, Angie, Susie and Alison’s home has been built as part of the My Home. My Life initiative and was made possible thanks to a donor known to us, but who wanted to remain anonymous. It is the sixth new home built in Toowoomba and there are currently a further three townhouses and two duplexes in the build and planning phase. That’s a big impact on the community!
Many thanks to the teams who have been involved in making this home possible, it was not without challenges. Special mention to the local team, led by Petrina Markland, who have worked tirelessly to ensure Candice, Angie, Susie and Alison have a home they can be proud of, and that will meet their needs for years to come.

The Welcome Home event received QLD-wide media coverage from Ch7, WIN, ABC and Toowoomba Chronicle. You can explore these links below:
