An exciting event that’s bound to be a fun, engaging way to raise awareness and funds for people with disabilities is happening in March. You’ve read the title, you’ve seen the picture, you’ve likely guessed it… it’s the ‘Sit-Up Challenge.’
To remind everyone of the event that’s just around the bend, the ‘Sit-Up Challenge Launch’ was held at the Support Centre at the end of January.

Always good value, whether it’s on the road for the Great Endeavour Rally, or chatting to donors, Nathan Woolhouse and Sharon Wood from Fundraising, know how to work a crowd! And this crowd were keen to hear all, especially how this challenge can give them washboard abs 😉, about how this challenge can help the people we support to achieve great things!
There are just 4 simple steps for how you can get involved!
- Sign up for the challenge before March 3rd, and if you raise $40, you’ll be in the running to win an iPhone 16 Pro!
- Share the challenge with your networks—this is a shareable event, and you’ll be helping to spread awareness.
- Fundraising Rewards – when you reach certain fundraising milestones, you can earn some cool prizes! T-shirts, water bottles, and hoodies (which are made locally at our Castle Hill social enterprise site, how awesome is that?) are up for grabs.
- Get Involved – Whether you’re doing 100 sit-ups or supporting your colleagues, this is a chance to have some fun, get fit, and support an important cause.

Despite the fact that this event is definitely a fitness-centred challenge, it’s not just about fitness; it’s about building a stronger, more inclusive community and supporting a great cause.
A CEO with a plan
David Swain even got in on the action, subtly demonstrating how what looks to be a stand up challenge, is actually a really good, modified sit up. Standing up and sitting down repeatedly, David indicated that the ‘stand up’ would be his preferred method. He said:
I’ll just sit down for a minute because I won’t be doing the sit-up challenge. Actually, I’m going to be doing the ‘stand-up’ challenge.
While this was a a humorous way to share the message, it is also a gentle reminder that you can take different approaches when it comes to the challenge. A little insight into David’s day also highlighted how he will be taking on the Sit-Up Challenge.
For the record, I will be signing up. I’m a little bit time-starved, so this is a bit of a disclosure: in the morning when I’m having breakfast, I’m having breakfast with one hand, and with the other hand, I’m playing fetch with the dog. For the sit-up challenge, I’ll be doing that while standing up, eating breakfast, and multi-tasking, playing fetch with the dog. So, if I don’t quite get the hundred over breakfast, I might have to do it at lunchtime.
This challenge is set to be a fun and meaningful way for everyone to get involved, get moving, and support a fantastic cause—so don’t miss out! You can join as a solo participant or find an accountability buddy and it can be twice the fun… and you might even find extra motivation on the tough days.
Don’t forget to register before 3 March be in with a chance to win.. and more than just great abs 😀
