#TeamPossible is ‘Proud to be me!’

video

To kick off the year on a wholesome note, we thought we’d share creative entries submitted by teams for International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD).

We asked people across our services to unite with their teams and share with others what makes them ‘Proud to be me!’.

Congratulations to the teams at Alex Hills L&L, Gladstone social enterprise and Kearney Springs L&L in Toowoomba. They were randomly drawn and have won $500 each to throw an unforgettable party!

On 3 December, we celebrate IDPwD. But, that’s not all that we celebrate on 3 December… because it’s also Tina’s birthday! ๐Ÿฅณ

We support Bettina (Tina) in her Caboolture home and community. Her support worker, Elizabeth Williamson, helped Tina create a photo collage and write a poem about what makes her ‘Proud to be me!’

My birthday’s on the 3rd of December! I hope that many of you will remember.

What better date to celebrate!
Laughter, music, I cannot wait.

I love to sing and laugh and dance.
I’ll have some cake when there’s a chance.

I’m loud and proud and love to be me.
I love animals, sports and walks by the sea.

I’ll say hello to all that I meet.
Share a cuppa with me, I’ll offer a seat.

I love to chat and go for drives.
Just being me, I’m free to thrive.

Proud to be born on such a special day.
I am unique in the very best of ways.
