A new professional development opportunity for our frontline support workers and managers is now available.
We are partnering with TAFE Queensland to deliver training in Certificate III Individual Support (disability specialisation) for our people to gain a nationally-recognised qualification in this area.
By embarking on this learning opportunity, you will hone your skills to support independence and wellbeing, sharpen your technical capabilities, and develop transferable skills from communication to teamwork. Specialising in disability, the course will give you the skills to support and empower people living with a disability.
For some who have worked in the sector for many years, this is your opportunity to be recognised with a professional qualification for the incredible work you do every day. Or, if you are just beginning in the industry, this is a great opportunity to gain your professional credentials to set you up well for the future.
Through a process called Recognised Prior Learning (RPL), TAFE will work with you to identify skills and experience which can be applied to gain credit toward specific units of study. What this means is, depending on your experience and prior qualifications, you may only need to do a small number of units to reach your professional qualification.
There is no cost to you to complete your Cert III.
