From first timers to Rally regulars, over 150 participants assembled at the Great Endeavour Rally start line in Roma last Friday, ready to tackle nearly 4,000kms of outback roads less travelled.
As the rally enters its second half, participants have entered SA.

But, not before pit-stopping at the legendary Cameron Corner, where NSW, SA and QLD converge, offering a rare chance for them to stand in three states at once!

We can bet two rally participants, in particular, found this moment pretty special. We’re talking about ‘the Camerons’, Maroochydore social enterprise employees, Cameron Nicholas and Cameron McNamee. They have joined Team Endeavour Foundation alongside their colleague, Jaime Barling, for this adventure of a lifetime.
“I have been camping and caravanning ever since I was young,” said Cameron N.
“Since starting with Endeavour Foundation in 2007 and seeing and hearing about people’s experiences on the Great Endeavour Rally, I’ve always wanted to give it a go myself.”
As the Rally includes Cameron Corner, what better omen can there be, than having a Cameron on board?!

Cameron N, Jaimie and their support worker are taking charge of our fully-accessible team vehicle, which for the second year running, gives people we support with a driver’s licence the opportunity to strap into the driver’s seat and navigate the rally themselves.

“I’m excited to see part of the world I haven’t seen before, especially coming from NSW. So, seeing so much of QLD will be a wonderful opportunity,” said Jaime.
Cameron McNamee is just as excited. He shared that participating in the rally has been a long-term goal of his.
“I have a big interest in 4WDs and off-roading. I enjoy camping and love things outdoors,” he said.

“I’ve heard a lot of great stories about the Great Endeavour Rally and I’m stoked to see more of our outback.”
The rally participants are making their way to the glorious sand dunes and salt lakes in Poeppel Corner, before crossing the border back into QLD and towards the finish line in Longreach.
We are excited to share more incredible stories and breathtaking photos upon their return.
