Longtime housemates move into their newly renovated home

Carmelo, Peter, and Haylea recently planted a tree in the front yard of their renovated, fully accessible home in Cairns. For the housemates of 20 years, this tree symbolises the start of an exciting new chapter.

“Carmelo, Peter and Haylea used to live in another home on the same lot,”Operations Manager, Andrea Dobson, said. “However, it was time for an upgrade, and that’s where our My Home, My Life initiative answered the call.”

The upgraded home boasts wide entryways, spacious showers, heightened security measures, and reinforced walls throughout, ensuring comfort and safety. 

Carmelo, known for his love of music, already has plans for how he and his housemates will celebrate their expanded space.

“I’m going to put on rock and roll music and do a dance,” he said. “I like living with Haylea and Peter. We love Elvis!”
