Since its grand opening in September 2024, the Penrith L&L has become a cherished part of the community. From state-of-the-art virtual reality learning to creative arts, cooking and fitness programs, the hub is redefining opportunities for people we support.
Located in the Penrith Senior Citizens’ Centre on Station Street, the hub is open Mondays and Wednesdays, offering a welcoming space for people to grow and connect at their own pace. Executive General Manager of Home and Community, Leanne Rutherford shared:
Offering leading disability services for over 70 years, we advocate for the rights of people living with disability, and seven decades later, we’re still ensuring the people we support have access to enriching opportunities in our community, to thrive and live their best lives however they choose.
The Penrith hub complements Castle Hill L&L, offering tailored programs that cater to individual needs. The team is dedicated to providing enriching experiences that make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. Site Manger, Ryan Kungl said:
Through our broad range of programs, we are always doing something new, and it’s a privilege to share these activities and new experiences with the wonderful locals who we support.
I love that no two days are the same in my job.
People we support, like Ben, love the hub’s programs too!
I like coming here because I like to have a break from work and learn about stuff at the L&L in Penrith.
I learn a lot of stuff, eating food and stuff. We’re cooking together on Mondays. It’s really fun.
The site also hosts personalised information sessions to help people explore extra supports available through their NDIS plans.
The hub’s success has also drawn praise from local leaders including Lindsay MP Melissa McIntosh who said:
Penrith is so fortunate to have Endeavour Foundation open its latest Learning and Lifestyle Hub on our doorstep.
Offering a variety of programs and activities designed to support people with disability to achieve their goals and aspire towards new feats, the L&L is a valuable service and will play an important role in ensuring our community is even more inclusive and accessible.
We are so proud of the L&L’s success so far and look forward to continuing to enrich the lives of people we support in Penrith 🎉
