Queenslander, Jayden, doesn’t need a ticket price slash to entice him to catch public transport.
For Jayden, public transport enables him to explore new places and gain new experiences.
“I like getting the bus, trains and ferries,” he said.

Jayden receives individualised support in his community where his favourite things to do are playing Pokemon Go! around town and going out clubbing alongside his support worker Jamie.
“We go clubbing. We go out and catch the ferry to the city. That’s what we did last week. It was all good fun,” Jayden said.
“I like going out to the valley because of the nightlife.”

Jamie, who also supports Jayden with essential tasks like meal planning and grocery shopping, is proud to ensure Jayden doesn’t miss out on things he is interested in.
“I like supporting him to do the things he likes. Most people wouldn’t think people with disability go clubbing and enjoy stuff like that. But it’s like, everyone likes clubbing and Jayden’s young,” Jamie said.
Jayden said his favourite thing about clubbing is the music, which helps him express himself and live in the moment.
“The music makes me feel pumped up. I like dancing to it,” he said.
Since receiving individualised support, Jayden’s openness to new experiences in his community has extended to his cooking choices at home.
“We’re now making different foods,” Jamie said.
“I remember when I first started with Jayden we were always making fish tacos, which are delicious, [but] last week we made meatballs and today, risotto.”
As they say, ‘variety is the spice of life’! We are thrilled that Jayden is living his best days ever with Jamie’s support.
