Inclusive fun and games was the name of the Aussie Rules game played earlier this month at Lawnton L&L as part of an AFL Queensland Sports Showcase.
The day-event was the result of our partnership with AFL Queensland League, which ensures everyone, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to experience the joy of footy.
People we support joined in on footy activities to develop skills and understand the basic elements of the game. This was followed by match play so everyone could practise what they learnt.

“Seeing them engaged and having fun was truly heartwarming and a testament to the inclusive environment we strive to cultivate,” said Site Manager, Sarita Alay-ay.”

The experience was unforgettable for those we support, igniting new interests for some.
“I enjoyed everything, especially kicking the footy. It was nice day for it too. We should do it again,”saidJohn-Michael.
“I have never taken part in anything like this. I really enjoyed myself today. I can’t wait to tell my brother,” Alex added.
As part of the new partnership we have hosted hydration stations at the AFLQ Inclusive Cup games in Cararra, Noosa and Moorooka, where the grand final is set to take place this Saturday. We wish all people we support involved the best of luck!
