Home refresh strengthens independence and community bonds

Earlier this year, housemates in Gympie excitedly walked through the doors of their upgraded units, where they were greeted by freshly painted walls and new vinyl flooring laid throughout. 

The three neighbouring units underwent a refresh to improve accessibility and create a modern look. Now completed, the housemates have since moved back in and are thriving in their gorgeous, yet practical space.

For these friends of two decades, cooking is a shared passion that has only grown stronger since their new, fully-accessible kitchens were installed. The spacious layouts not only make cooking a joy, but also provide lots of room for gatherings and storage.

The recent refresh didn’t stop at the kitchens either. Previously all three units shared one laundry. Now, each unit has its own fully-equipped laundry. What was once a shared chore has now become a breeze for the households, achieving both greater independence and improved convenience.

Plus, with housemates from all three units living so close together, you can bet that they’ve already had some fun and memorable get-togethers at home! Pictured is a community BBQ they hosted, joined by staff, friends and family.
