Last week we came together for lunch before our Annual General Meeting and the day was one of spirit and connection.
The day began with a heartfelt Welcome to Country by Songwoman Maroochy, a respected Aboriginal Elder from Meanjin Country (Brisbane), whose words and beautiful song set the tone for an inclusive and meaningful event.
We then heard from John Chesterman, a passionate advocate for people with disability. John shared insights into his current projects, which focus on improving the lives of people with disability in areas like the criminal justice system, combating loneliness and healthy sexual relationships.
Adding a burst of energy to the day, twin brothers Wayne and Warren from Mermaid Waters Learning & Lifestyle Hub charmed us with a colourful musical performance, blending their vibrant bongo drumming with heavy metal music, leaving us all highly entertained!
This was followed by a conversation between David Swain and our newly appointed board member, Jane Hopkins. Jane shared her employment journey and her experience with Endeavour Foundation, offering valuable insights into her vision for the future.

Guests were treated to a delicious sit-down lunch prepared by the talented team at the Support Centre café, Heart to Harvest, lovingly served by employees from Alex Hill L&L, before the day ended with our Annual General Meeting, attended by staff, members and our Board.
We are pleased to share the success of our fantastic social enterprises, Kingaroy Kitchen and QArt pop-up stalls! Kingaroy Kitchen was a crowd favourite, nearly selling out and making over $580. Meanwhile, our talented QArt artists raised more than $470, with every dollar going straight back into the enterprise. Guests were amazed by the evolution and exceptional quality of the work on display, showcasing the passion and creativity of everyone involved.
It was a great day of connection, learning and celebrating of our shared mission. Thank you to everyone who made it possible!
