Charissa claims top gong at 2024 NESA Awards!

As the sole Workforce Australia Employment Consultant at the CoAct + Community Solutions Yeppoon office, Charissa List is used to quietly getting on with the job. So when she won the Employment Consultant of the Year at this years’ National Employment Services Association (NESA) Awards for Excellence, it was an unexpected but well-deserved moment in the spotlight!

Charissa stood out among hundreds of Employment Consultants across Australia to claim the prestigious award, a feat she humbly says is all thanks to the people she supports.

“If it wasn’t for my customers that allow me to support them through their challenges, I wouldn’t be here accepting this award,” she said.

Community development is my background, it’s my passion. I am honoured to receive this award.

Employment opportunities are not always abundant in the small coastal town of Yeppoon, but Charissa has never let that stop her from finding jobs for her 100-odd customers.

“Yeppoon is a unique community with its own challenges and opportunities,” Charissa said.

“I challenge myself every day. No appointment is the same and no participant is the same. It is rewarding at the end of the day to know that you’ve done something good.”

Community Solutions’ General Manager of Employment Services General Nikki Cross said Charissa’s impact on the Yeppoon community was significant.

“We couldn’t be prouder of Charissa and her achievements. Her tireless efforts to address barriers to employment, assist local businesses, and provide holistic support to job seekers are a credit to her dedication and expertise.

Charissa has claimed the prestigious
Employment Consultant of the Year award for 2024.

Charissa’s work has left a lasting impact on the Yeppoon community, and her commitment, skill, and results truly exemplify the very best of employment services.

Charissa’s approach is backed up with outstanding feedback from the people she supports, who say, “She’s very helpful and reassuring,” and “Charissa is an absolute ray of sunshine.”

Congratulations on your outstanding achievement Charissa!
