In February, we shared news about Bowen Hills L&L’s innovative mission to test scooping tools for collecting lunar dust.

Recently, Lauren Fell from Lunar Outpost returned to Bowen Hills with an exciting update: a prototype of the “roo-ver.” This advanced rover will carry the lunar dust scooper, marking the beginning of phase two of the project.

This is what inclusion looks like, this is what friendship looks like, this is what makes our world a better place. It’s an absolute honour and a privilege to be a part of it.

The Australian Space Agency (ASA) will soon decide between the Queensland prototype and another from Western Australia for the first-ever all-Australian designed lunar rover.

If successful, the chosen design will journey to the moon in late 2027 or early 2028, representing a significant milestone in Australian space exploration.
