DIY legends: Bowen Hills Build-It crew are crafting more than just projects
At our Bowen Hills L&L, the Build-It crew, Jayden, Kay and Angus are proof that when you mix creativity, community and a good dose of elbow grease, the results go way beyond the workshop.
Thanks to their ongoing partnership with their local Bunnings, this trio has been flexing their building and crafting skills over the past few years whilst loving every second of it.
From painting projects and basic builds to learning how to safely use tools, the Build-It crew are gaining real skills while forming strong friendships. Staff from Bunnings often lend a hand too, helping support this creative learning partnership that’s become a regular highlight on the calendar. The Build-It crew have been heading to Bunnings regularly for a few years now, with support from both the services we offer and the Bunnings team.
Jayden proudly expressed his opinions on the days spent with the Build-It crew stating that it’s the best day of the week. He also enjoys the social element of simply hanging out all together with his peers to make “cool stuff.”
This Easter, they turned up the fun with a creative explosion of egg-painting, hands-on crafts, and a side of karaoke chaos. To top it off? An epic pool noodle hockey match that had the whole crew in stitches.
Whether they’ve got a paintbrush, a hammer or a microphone in hand, Jayden, Kay and Angus are proof that every day can be a chance to learn, connect and thrive.
