Friends and colleagues Geoff, Richard and Freya were cheering on Andrew Negrelli from our Kew social enterprise and Victoria Barracks DAP recently, as he had the honour of carrying the torch for the 2025 Winter Special Olympics. You can watch this momentous occasion here.

Andrew, who has been working at Kew for more than 8 years, has been selected to represent Australia for Alpine Skiing in Italy in 2026. He’s super excited as both of his parents are from Italy and he’s keen to see where they were born.
The Guardians of the Flame torch run for the Special Olympics was held at police headquarters in Melbourne and involved officers and representative of Special Olympics Australia.
As part of their workplace giving, over 3000 Victorian police gives money from their salary to the disability sector, and the event was a great time to show their commitment to the cause.
Andrew loves the work he does, both at the social enterprise and with defence. One thing that he is grateful for is the flexibility that his work gives him to be able to train without missing work opportunities.
I’m so grateful for the flexibility they give me, to do my job, to work in my other role, and to go to the Special Olympics events as well.
If the Endeavour Foundation work wasn’t available, I’d feel really disappointed, because I don’t think there are as many opportunities in more mainstream jobs, nor do I think they’re as flexible. They really allow me to be who I want to be and can be.
We are so proud of you Andrew and can’t wait to follow your journey to the Special Winter Olympics.
