Mark came to Community Solutions Workforce Australia Wide Bay team over a year ago. He had been struggling with unemployment and felt his age was his biggest barrier. With the support of his mentor, Mark set his sights on pursuing a management role in hospitality, building on his experience.
Mark received guidance and assistance with job applications, and we funded his Responsible Management of Licensed Venues (RMLV) Certification. The teamwork paid off when we secured him an interview at the RSL, and he was offered a job trial on the spot!
Mark has been happily employed at the RSL and is being trained in all areas to step into a duty manager role. He’s excited about his future and is already looking forward to becoming independent from Centrelink support.
We are so proud of Mark’s determination and kudos to his Workforce Australia team who played an integral part in his success!
