Since last year, we have earmarked May and October as the Month of Engagement for all of our sites. These are an opportunity for sites to engage with stakeholders and let them know all the great things we have been doing.
The teams in Gympie have struggled to get the numbers at these meetings in the past, so decided to shake it up (as Tay-Tay says 💃) and combine their efforts for a bigger and better meeting. And boy did they succeed. Portfolio Manager, Georgina Richards said:
We began planning a couple months ago and I held Pre-stakeholder meetings with the Home Site Supervisors and Community Site Manager so that we all knew what our part would be in a joint meeting.
At meeting number one, about twelve family members and other guests from the social enterprise came along. There will also be a second meeting for those who couldn’t attend this one.
We had 2 people we support come along and talk about what they love about Endeavour Foundation, one who attends the L&L and lives in one of our homes, and the other from the social enterprise.
While the idea of the meetings are to share updates, this was also a fantastic opportunity to socialised with people from all services.
Everyone was really positive about the way it was presented and enjoyed getting to know each other.

To top it all off, the snacks at the meeting came from Kingaroy Kitchens and from the hands of the people we support, who made the yummy cupcakes 🧁 and sausage rolls.
Georgina further shared that they were able to use the resources that the Practice, Quality and Impact team prepared with the help of the Communications and Engagement teams,
We definitely used the available resources but tweaked it to make it our own, adding stories and events along the way This is definitely the way going forward.
What a shining example of how collaboration and enthusiasm can make all things possible!
