Last week we welcomed the HonAlex Hawke MP, Federal Member for Mitchell, at Castle Hill L&L and social enterprise.
As part of his visit, he presented service awards to employees and launched the sites’ new Virtual Reality (VR) learning suite. This technology was funded by a $8,250 government grant from the Stronger Communities Program (SCP). We are thankful for his support in our application to this program.
“I was proud to support the Stronger Communities grant application as a way of building the skills and capability of people with disability in our electorate,” said Mr. Hawke.
“The service awards are a terrific way to acknowledge the employees’ achievements and I am pleased to be able to share this moment with all the recipients.”

The launch was part of our VR rollout across NSW, QLD and VIC, made possible from funds raised by participants of our Great Endeavour Rally.
This rollout aims to provide immersive training experiences and enhance job-readiness skills for more people with disability. The VR launch in Castle Hill alone sets out to benefit 30 people at our services and around 100 students from 12 local schools.
Our VR learning programs cover a broad range of essential skills, including public transport navigation, pedestrian safety, ATM usage, barista training, forklift operation, and comprehensive driving simulations. You can find out more about our VR offerings on the intranet.
